Around the Corner [Gilbert] Empty Around the Corner [Gilbert]

Post by Kateryna Braginskaya Tue Apr 05, 2011 6:13 pm

Kateryna strolled along the various impressive stalls of the market place, stopping to appreciate a few exotic fruits and sniff some tropical flowers. Where people got these things, she'll never know, but that didn't mean she was complaining. The day was nice, the temerature not at roasting point, and she had been brave enough to wear a black dress draped with thin chains. Even put on her black fancy boots instead of the usual sandals that most everyone wore. But she still kept her parasol up, due to her fair skin.

"If only Erik were here, I could ask him if he liked the idea of lamb for tonight's dinner..." She muttered to herself and continued to search. There was a delicious looking dessert stand, which felt like such a treat to Kateryna. Desserts here were so expensive, they couldn't afford them often, having more important things to spend the money on... But today Kateryna felt like spoiling herself, so she bought a small pastry with a cream filled center - Imported from France, according to the salesman! How amazing!

She sat on a bench underneath the shade of a tree, and took a bite into the pastry. It was a... rather a lot more stuffed than she originally expected, and the cream squirted out of the end opposite to that which she'd bitten into, splattering onto her front. Oh, if only she had a towelette to wipe it up with and avoid dirtying her handkerchief... Still, she had no choice but to pull the white material out of her purse, wiping at her cleavage, where most of the cream had unfortunately fallen. At least there was still a nice amount in the pastry.

Around the Corner [Gilbert] Empty Re: Around the Corner [Gilbert]

Post by Gilbert Weilschmidt Mon Apr 11, 2011 10:55 pm

Gilbert hated the heat. It was hard for him to express in coherent words just how much he hated horrible, horrendous, hellish heat. Then, as if to spite the irate albino more, there was the sun. The sun shone every single day in this slice of hell. The rain rarely came to saturate the ground with a little life. The weather denied Gilbert and the town relief. Instead it worked hard to murder them all and let them sink into the burning sand. His only defense against the murderous force in the sky was a mere yellow parasol.

The smuggler could not really complain though. It was expensive to bring goods to hell. Not only did the sun try to kill its inhabitants, but the government made sure to pile copious amounts of taxes on imported goods. It made great business for the law-breaker. The black-market was vast and strong in this town. No one really wanted to do anything about it either, lest they die. It thrived, right out in the open, and Gilbert loved it. He often would walk through the streets and watch crime give people life. It was beautiful.

It was on such a walk that Gilbert managed to spy a woman that he could call nothing but gorgeous. Her hair was blond, her skin pale despite the harsh world, and he breasts were of a decent size. More than decent. However, it was too hot to dwell on that at the moment. Instead, he slipped down the streets to get a closer look at her. Within seconds of staring at her, she dripped cream from a pastry all down her front. He froze, staring intently as the woman slowly wiped the white filling from her breast. It was really hot out...extremely hot...He needed to get inside a building...

Within seconds, he had forgotten his quest to find solace and was standing in front of the gorgeous woman with an almost predatory gleam. “Hallo, luv,” he purred suavely, “need some help?”

Curse the cream! It was sticky and getting in her cleavage, making her shiver. She spent money on the pastry, too, and she wanted to enjoy it, not spend her afternoon trying to remove half of it from her chest. It took up all of her attention, so she didn't notice the man approaching her. Until she caught sight of a pair of feet in front of her and a voice spoke out "Hallo, luv, need some help?", sounding sort of gruff, very manly and oddly predatorial. She jumped and squeeked, looking up at him.

"U-Um... Uh..." Was all that seemed to come out of her mouth. Help would be nice, but he was a man, and it wouldn't be proper if he was touching her... her... She turned pink. On the other hand, she needed something new to mop up the cream. "I... Could... Nnng..." She wasn't sure what to say. So instead, she took in the man's appearance. He had hair even paler white than her own, which was a surprise, but it made sense when she saw his red eyes and understood that he was an albino! That was pretty amazing, they were meant to be really rare! But what was he doing in the Sahara? He'd fry!

Anyway, back to her current dilema. "Um... You can help... I think?" It depends on how he was planning on helping, and Kateryna was weary of being felt up by random strangers. "What is your name? My name is Kateryna Braginskaya..." When in doubt, do what your parents taught you. In this case, state your name.

Around the Corner [Gilbert] Empty Re: Around the Corner [Gilbert]

((*gets to write a creeper* \o/))
She looked like perfection. Helpless, innocent, perfection. It was like a wet dream, an obviously perfect young woman sitting helpless in front of him. Gilbert could not even begin to explain to anyone how absolutely awesome the entire situation was. She was almost like a siren, luring him in from the sea of sweating bodies. He certainly did not mind the amount of death that would surround such a creature. Any bad consequences would certainly be worth it.

“What was that?” the Prussian purred in response to her flustered phrases. He felt like he was melting as she blushed a pretty shade of pink. He missed all surprise, confusion, and fear written across her face. It was not as though his eyes were even on her face anymore. They had better places to scrutinize, like her breasts and down her curvy sides to her thighs. Perfection, especially if she kept making those cute little noises.

“Why, thanks. I'd love to be of assistance. I'm the awesome, amazing, and astounding Gilbert Weilschmidt. I'll take your blushes as a compliment. Most women normally swoon for me, but your blushes'll do. Your gorgeous appearance makes up for your lack a' respect anyways. Via swooning, that is,” rambled the smuggler obliviously. His nose went in the air as he spoke and arms flailed in extravagant praises of himself. For a few seconds, Gilbert was lost in a world of delusion where every woman wanted him, though, upon returning, and thinking, he panicked.

In front of him was a woman. A woman with breasts! He was staring at her. If he kept this up, he could get into her pants. He did not do sex. Sex! It would tie him down with domestic looking lady. She would be faithful and demanding and horrible. What if she had a child? He could not handle that! He had to diffuse the [imaginary] situation, and quickly. Touching her breasts under the pretense of cleaning was out of the question now. Instead, he hastily dug through his pockets before discovering a handkerchief and tossing it clumsily at her. Upon doing so, he mentally patted himself on the back and gave her another cocky smile.

Situation diffused.

Around the Corner [Gilbert] Empty Re: Around the Corner [Gilbert]

Post by Kateryna Braginskaya Thu May 19, 2011 6:38 pm

Kateryna wasn't sure what to do! This man seemed a little like a rapist, and Kateryna was feeling more than a little alarmed. She nibbled her lip and bounced her heal in slight aggitation. Those eyes travelled from her head to her toes, and it made her feel even more selfconscious of the slowly melting cream dripping through her cleavage. But when the man started talking, Kateryna's nervousness seemed to... Simply fade, somehow. His voice was nice, if a little rough. He was obviously the inflated-ego type, so that meant he wasn't a true threat... Right? Wait, that didn't make any sense!

The man told her his name, and complimented her... Sort of. It felt like a backhanded compliment, to say that her looks made up for her apparent rudeness. But who called "Flustered jibberish" rude, anyway? But while she was absorbed in her thoughts, "Gilbert's" posture and whole attitude changed to something Kateryna could not identify and practically assulted her with a handkerchief. She stared up at him, clutching the handkerchief and jiggling her leg still, before tentatively dabbing at the cream. Oh, the situation was terrible, it was staining her beautiful black dress!

"Um..." She glanced up at Gilbert again, thinking over what she was going to say. "My name is Kateryna Braginskaya. I, er... I run the medical supplies shop with my 19 year old son..." She always had to mention his age, otherwise she felt like she was forcing a child to work when that simply wasn't the case. "You, um..." He was something. Kateryna wasn't entirely sure what he was, but she'd started a sentence, so she should, really, finish it. "You're a... You're sweet." She finished, a small, shy smile tugging at the corners of her lips. He was, in a way. It was difficult to explain...

...He was quirky! Yes. And that made him sweet! Kateryna relaxed slightly, pleased to have said something other than "Er", "Um" or "I...". Yes, conversation was the way forward, as her father had taught her when she was young.

Around the Corner [Gilbert] Empty Re: Around the Corner [Gilbert]

Post by Gilbert Weilschmidt Sat Jul 02, 2011 2:23 pm

Gilbert continued to stand there blushing. His body had suddenly become stiff, shy, and awkward. He felt like a teenager again. A teenager who had encountered a brothel for the first time. His face turned bright red at the thought, a strange prudishness about women flowing through the tall albino. A small part of his brain chimed in, telling him that he was not meant to flirt with women. The fairer sex were all cruel devils just waiting to tear him to pieces. At least, he was pretty sure that is what his time with the cloth told him. It was all rather fuzzy and distant now, not memories he wanted. The Prussian was still sure of the fact that all women were secretly evil. They seduced you and then beat you up for touching them.

With that in mind she did not seem nearly as attractive.

“Well then, Miss Katernya, itsa pleasure to meet you,” replied Gilbert with a cheeriness to hide the fact that he had remembered that women were a cruel species of creature. A species prone to beating up men. “I am indeed very sweet. The sweetest, awesomest of them all. Why, I came over here to help you when I saw you were in distress. Not because you looked sexy or defenseless.”

He seemed almost proud of himself at that, as though he was a talented liar and conman. Gilbert stood up straight for a moment, but seemed to think better of it, crouching down again to look the other woman in the eyes. Upon deeming her a safe creature, he settled next to her in the sparse shade, leaning his head back to press harshly into the tree and let the man stare up at the leaves of the tree. He hoped that it also gave him the ability to discretely eye her chest without much notice.

“So, ah, miss, where is your escort?”

The blush on Gilbert's cheeks were so cute, Kateryna had to resist reaching out and pinching them. But she left her hands resting on her lap, trying to ignore the sticky feeling in her bosom from the cream and focussing solely on Gilbert. Though eventually she remembered her manners and stood, clutching at her skirt, curtseying slightly and smiling. Had she been someone else, she might have found something suspicious when Gilbert had said "Not because you looked sexy or defenseless.". Howver, she wasn't someone else, and it flew completely over her head as both Gilbert's poor attept at self-justification and a unintededly back-handed compliment. "How kind of you!" She beamed, happy to meet someone nice to talk to. Stepping forward slightly, she continued, "Honestly, a lot of men I see around here are lewd and unflattering. I'm glad to have found someone with some manners!"

She smiled before subtly trying to wash away the sticky cream feeling one-handedly, turning away slightly with a sheepish expression on her face. Gilbert asked her something and she blinked in confusion, head tilting to the side. "Escort? What escort?" Do people need escorts when going to the market...? She continued to dab at herself, but it was becoming half hearted as the heat and sweat were making her task more difficult. "Do you, uh... Do you often come here?" Wow, Kateryna, She scolded herself, That sounded like a bad pick-up line! And sinse when was trying to make small talk while you clean yourself common practice? Her face heated up again, feeling silly.

(( Lazy reply is SO LAZY. Look at how short that is! >.> ))

Gilbert beamed at the praises of his kindness, feeling as though he was well on his way to taming the beast that was a woman. She struck him as a benevolent being, much like most men were when encountered out and about. Women always seemed to act as if the world had done them wrong. It was as if all women mimicked the aristocrats' anger at being covered in layers of heavy clothes and corsets that crushed their insides. Or, they were as Gilbert had already guessed, really all just devils.

“You're welcome! Those dastardly men. They're prolly all aristocrats. They're pretty repressed an' all. Can't help but leer and try to find themselves mistresses and whatnot. What perverts. S'why you need an escort. No sensible woman goes out on her own...Even if you are quite talented when it comes to scaring off men. I mean, your species as a whole,” rambled Gilbert, oblivious to any insult that could be taken from his chattering. He grinned at her again, making sure she was still fond of him.

The albino raised a brow as she asked him silly questions and broke out in a flush, but chose not to mock her or even point the action out. He merely tore his gaze away from her and examined the marketplace. “I think most of us come here often. I suppose I come more often than most though. I...sell things. Well, I'm more of a supplier, giving shopkeepers their goods, but I'll occasionally open up a temporary stand when I'm feeling daring,” he answered carefully, an ounce of the vapid childishness of him vaporizing. He shrugged after he finished.

Kateryna tilted her head. "My species as a whole...?" That sounded rather rude and Kateryna wanted to respond with something to correct him, but thought better of it. Were women good at scaring off men? Kateryna had never had a problem herself... Did she? Kateryna cast her mind back, trying to think of any problems she'd had with men... Shaking her head, she returned to listening to Gilbert while she cleaned and eventually deemed herself clean enough to go about her day without discomfort or embarrassment. "I've never needed an escort before. You really think they're that important?" He seemed to know a lot, this man, and Kateryna wasn't sure whether she should believe what he was telling her or not.

"Oh, right..." She nodded and tilted her head slightly. "Sell things? I sell things too, but I have a proper shop I work in-- Did I already tell you this? I might be repeating myself..." She gave a small, sheepish smile and fiddled with her skirt. "Oh! And would you like this back?" She asked doubtfully, holding up the handkerchief that he'd handed her previously between her thumb and forefinger. It smelt odd and sweet from the cream but at the same time, Kateryna didn't think it looked very pleasant. "What do you usually sell?"

((Still fighting with my characterization of Prussia. My head wants him sinister and cruel, yet I write happy-go-lucky. Whoo. I apologize for inconsistencies/apparent mood swings/changes of opinion/awfulness.))

“Your species as a whole! Women!” agreed the Prussian vehemently, ignoring the look of slight confusion and unsureness that crossed her face. Then, his tone abruptly turned a bit more bitter. “Rude creatures prone to abusing and harming men. You guys are secretly in charge. S'why you have no rights. If you did, men wouldn't last a day. So we pretend we keep you in your places.” He paused. “Of course, you're seeming nice. So you can be the exception.”

The Prussian dismissed her questioning of escorts. He knew that before gallivanting in the desert, women always had men at their sides when in public. Of course, there were exceptions and perhaps time had been changing. He knew himself to be a bit sexist and foolish too. If it was not necessary here, he would just drop the subject. He was not all knowing and overly cultured. There was no need to look like an idiot talking about things that he may not know about.

“You did tell me. Kateryna who works in a medical supply shop with her 19 year old son. I listen,” he smirked slightly, before waving the handkerchief away with a slight look of distaste. It could easily be mistaken as disgust at the mess, but it was more geared to the fact that she had handled it. There was a vague feeling, while he admired women from afar, that the man never grew out of the schoolboy phase of “girls have cooties”.

He shrugged it off. “I sell whatever I get my hands on. This an' that. More of a fickle supplier.”
